Jammu-New Delhi Rajdhani adds extra coach for Navratri rush

Jammu, March 16: To accommodate the heavy rush of passengers, especially devotees traveling to seek Darshan of Mata Vaishno Devi during Navratri, the Jammu Division has announced the addition of an extra Third AC (3AC) coach on Train No. 12426, the Jammu-New Delhi Rajdhani Express, from March 16 to March 20, 2026.

The move, under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Shri Vivek Kumar, aims to enhance passenger convenience and reduce waiting lists during the festive season. Approximately 72 additional berths will be available on each trip, ensuring more confirmed tickets for travelers.

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Shri Uchit Singhal said, “Our goal is to ensure passengers have a safe and comfortable journey during Navratri. The additional coach comes equipped with modern amenities and meets all safety standards. We will continue monitoring passenger demand and implement similar measures in the future.”

Passengers are advised to check seat availability and train status via the IRCTC website or the Railway Helpline 139.
