International Yoga Day: Week-long activities conclude at HKM College Bandipora
Bandipora, June 21: The week-long program aimed at raising awareness among students about the benefits of practicing Yoga for the physical and mental well-being concluded with the celebration of International Yoga under the theme of the year "Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbkam" at Hassan Shah Khuehami Memorial Government Degree College Bandipora on Wednesday.
An official spokesperson said the event was organized by the NSS Units and Department of Physical Education & Sports of the College in collaboration with the Department of AYUSH District Bandipora.
The yoga session was held in an open air within the College Campus and was participated by faculty, staff, and students. The Principal of the College, Dr. Masood Ahmad Malik also remained present during the event. Mr. Irshad Ahmad Ganie, an experienced Yoga Instructor from the Department of AYUSH, offered a range of yoga practices and asanas to enhance flexibility, relaxation, and mindfulness.
Earlier a brief ceremony was held wherein Dr. Mohammad Yaseen Malik, NSS Program officer (Unit-I), formally welcomed the guests and participants. He also highlighted the significance of yoga in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and its relevance in academic pursuits.
He encouraged the students to practice regular yoga to remain fit and improve concentration.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Dr. Irshad Ahmad Bhat, NSS Programme officer (Unit-II).
