International Women’s Day Celebration at Kanzalwan

Bandipora, March 08: Indian Army stationed near Line of Control (LoC) in Kanzalwan village of Gurez Valley on Tuesday   celebrated International Women’s Day at BDO Office.

An official said BDC Chairperson Mukhtiyar Ahmad Lone addressed a gathering and highlighted achievements of women in every sphere of life, women equality and women creativity.

 On this occasion, the Army unit provided assistance to all the Widows in the unit AoR. “Moreover, in an endeavour to truly empower them a campaign in sewing and handloom has been started. School children performed a dance program to celebrate the event”.

"She can put a smile on her face and act like everything is fine. While in reality, the world is on her shoulders and her life is slipping through the cracks of her finger," speakers said.

Officials said local woman folk along with their families expressed their gratitude to Army for providing a platform to celebrate  the International Women’s Day in the remotest area of Kashmir. The respect and admiration towards women by Army has definitely strengthened the bond between AWAM and Jawan.
