International Day against Drug Abuse : IDPS B’pora students present skit, cultural performances at commemoration event
Bandipora, June 26: In a show of solidarity against drug abuse and illicit trafficking, students from International Delhi Public School (IDPS) in Bandipora actively participated in a commemoration event held at the conference hall of the mini secretariat.
The event, organized to mark the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, aimed to raise awareness about the devastating impact of drug abuse on individuals and society as a whole.
Chairman IDPS Fayaz Ahmad said the students captivated the audience with their special cultural performances and a thought-provoking skit. Through their artistic expressions, they shed light on the far-reaching consequences of drug abuse while also sensitizing the attendees about the grave issue of drug trafficking.
During the commemoration, the students passionately emphasized the importance of addressing drug abuse and its detrimental effects on individuals' physical and mental well-being.
Through their performances, they showcased the need for collective action to combat the drug menace, urging the audience to join hands in creating a drug-free society.
“The event served as a platform for raising awareness and fostering a deeper understanding of the challenges posed by drug abuse and illicit trafficking,” Fayaz Ahmad added.
“The IDPS Bandipora students, guided by their teachers and mentors, effectively communicated the message that drug abuse not only poses a threat to personal health but also undermines the fabric of society”.
He said the commemoration event, held in collaboration with local administration demonstrated the commitment of IDPS Bandipora to nurturing responsible and informed citizens who actively contribute to the betterment of society.
“By engaging in creative and impactful initiatives, such as cultural performances and skits, the students played an instrumental role in educating the audience and promoting a message of vigilance against drug abuse and illicit trafficking”.
As the event concluded, the attendees expressed their appreciation for the efforts of the IDPS Bandipora students in shedding light on this pressing issue.
The audience gave huge applause to the students and appreciated their performances. They were later felicitated by the Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Dr. Owais Ahmad, spokesperson added.
