Budgam, June 5: An Integrated Awareness Programme on Social Protection Schemes and World Environment Day was organized on Friday at Girls Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Budgam under the banner of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao.
The programme was organized by REACHA under the Smartpur Project in collaboration with SANKALP Hub for Empowerment of Women, District Budgam.
An official spokesperson of the organisation said the programme focused on creating awareness about social welfare schemes, environmental conservation, digital inclusion, and women empowerment.
Speakers highlighted the importance of protecting the environment and promoting the education and empowerment of the girl child.
On the occasion, participants took a pledge to protect and preserve the environment and to uphold the ideals of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao by supporting the safety, education, and empowerment of girls.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and staff. It concluded with a tree plantation drive on the school premises, symbolizing the collective commitment of participants towards environmental conservation and a greener future.
Spokesperson said the plantation activity served as a practical demonstration of the message of sustainability and environmental responsibility promoted during the programme.
