Indian Army Wins Inaugural Services Unity Cup Basketball Tournament 2026

New Delhi, May 21: The first-ever Services Unity Invitational Basketball Tournament 2026 was organised from April 20 to 25 at the Army Basketball Node, 1 Army Headquarters Signal Regiment, under the aegis of the Army Sports Control Board as part of the Year of Networking (Sports) initiative.

An official spokesperson said the tournament aimed to strengthen synergy and camaraderie among sister services and Central Armed Police Forces.

 Teams representing the Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, Sashastra Seema Bal, Border Security Force, Central Industrial Security Force, and Indo-Tibetan Border Police participated in the championship.

The Indian Army emerged as champions of the tournament, while the Indian Navy secured the runner-up position. The Indian Air Force and CISF finished third and fourth respectively.

Lt Gen Vivek Dogra, Signal Officer-in-Chief and Colonel Commandant, Corps of Signals, presented the trophy to the winning Indian Army team. Lt Gen Ajay Ramdev also attended the opening and closing ceremonies of the tournament.
