Reasi, Feb 19: Indian Army Monday organised an interactive workshop with Village Defence Committee (VDC) members of Reasi.
An official spokesperson said during the workshop, the members displayed their training prowess and skills in weapon handling. “A total of 30 VDC members were present during the workshop”.
The Army unit assisted all the members of VDC in further improving their selfdefence capabilities and laid emphasis on the role of Village Defence Committee.
He said a lecture cum demonstration on weapon handling and cleaning, musketry and minor repairs of weapons was conducted as part of the workshop.
“The event was also utilized to exchange views on role of VDC members including motivating youngsters for joining defence services & stay away from Narcotics,” spokesperson said in the statemnent.
