Indian Army Provides Emergency Medical Aid to Injured Civilian in Rajouri
RAJOURI, May 19: Demonstrating its steadfast commitment to civilian welfare in remote regions, the Indian Army on Monday provided life-saving emergency medical assistance to a local resident in Dhakikot, Rajouri district, after he sustained a serious abdominal injury.
At around 4:45 PM, the civilian was injured when a large stone weighing approximately 45–50 kilograms accidentally fell on him while he was engaged in house construction work. Witnessing the incident, local residents rushed the injured man to the Regimental Aid Post (RAP) of the Indian Army, which was operational nearby as part of an ongoing deployment in the area.
The Regimental Medical Officer (RMO) responded immediately, administering emergency first aid, pain relief, and supportive care. After stabilizing the patient and ensuring his vital signs were within normal limits, the Army team coordinated his referral to the Government Hospital in Kotranka for further evaluation, including X-ray and ultrasound investigations to rule out any internal complications.
Army officials reported the civilian’s condition as stable and emphasized that the quick and professional intervention of the Army medical team helped avert a potentially life-threatening situation.
This incident once again underscores the Indian Army’s crucial role in serving and safeguarding remote communities, often acting as the first line of emergency response in inaccessible and infrastructure-deficient areas of Jammu and Kashmir.
