Indian Army organises medical camp in Northern Most Villages of Eastern Ladakh

Udhampur, Feb 17: Indian Army stationed in Ladakh on Saturday organised a multi-speciality medical camp for the people of remote villages of Durbuk and Shyok in Eastern Ladakh.

An official spokesperson said the villages are situated on the banks of river Shyok and surrounded by stunning majestic peaks and scenery, “Shyok is the last village on the Northern frontier of Ladakh with a population of a few hundred inhabitants”. 

He said winters are harsh and life becomes very difficult for the people of this region. This year delayed snowfall has increased health problems and added to the misery of people of this remote village.

Demonstrating its commitment for Nation Building and towards fellow countrymen, Indian Army in collaboration with the Health Department of Ladakh, organised a multi-speciality medical camp at Durbuk and Shyok villages, with an aim to reach the people of these remote villages and provide them with much needed medical care.

Spokesperson informed large No of Male, Female and Children were provided a healing touch by conduct of medical, eye and dental check-up along with distribution of medicines by a team of qualified and dedicated military and civil Doctors. Representatives of Indian Army present at the medical camp reiterated the commitment of Indian Army towards the people of Eastern Ladakh and Nation Building and thanked the civil administration of Ladakh for their support towards successful conduct of the medical camp.
