Indian Army Hosts Gujjar Bakarwal Mela in Baramulla, Celebrates Tribal Heritage

Baramulla, July 09: The Indian Army under the aegis of Chinar Corps proudly organized the Gujjar Bakarwal Mela 2026 at Butapathri Gulmarg celebrating the rich heritage, traditions, and resilience of the local communities of Baramulla district. Over 900 members of the Gujjar and Bakarwal community came together to foster trust and strengthen bonds. The event provided a platform for cultural exchange, community engagement, and build trust.

This outreach reaffirmed Dagger Division’s commitment to strengthening civil-military ties and move towards a stronger and more inclusive future.
