Bandipora || On 15th August 2025, the 79th Independence Day was celebrated with great patriotic spirit and enthusiasm at Kishanganga Power Station (KGPS), NHPC Limited, located in Bandipora, Jammu & Kashmir.
An official spokesperson of the company said the celebration began with the ceremonial hoisting of the National Flag by Shri Rajesh Ranjan, General Manager-in-Charge (Head of the Power Station). This was followed by the singing of the National Anthem and a parade salute presented by the CISF contingent.
The entire project campus was beautifully decorated in the colors of the national flag, creating a vibrant and festive atmosphere. Addressing the gathering, Shri Ranjan highlighted NHPC’s contribution to nation-building and reaffirmed KGPS’s commitment to sustainable energy and community welfare.
Shri Somnath, General Manager (Civil), along with other NHPC officers, employees, contract workers, personnel from JKAP and CISF, and members of the local community -including women and children dressed in traditional attire – actively participated in the event. The large presence of local residents reflected their love for the nation and the spirit of unity.
