Incessant rains trigger flash floods, inundates several villages in Bandipora

Bandipora, 12 June: Several villages have been submerged after incessant rains triggered flash floods in north Kashmir's Bandipora on Wednesday.
Several villages including Lowdara, Kulhama, Lankreshipora, Kunzpora and Gund Jahengeer were inundated due to flash floods, triggered by incessant rains.
An official said that flash floods have damaged agricultural crops in Lowdara, Kulhama and Kunzpora village of Bandipra.
"Water has also entered into several residential houses in these village, creating fear among the residents. Several transmission lines have also been damaged due to the flash floods", he said.
He said that a bridge was also washed away by flash floods in Arin village of Bandipora.
The official said that flash floods washed away bridge over Arin Nallah, connecting Arin with Bapora village.
Meanwhile, several houses have also been inundated in Kaloosa locality after water seeped through bund along side Nallah Madumati.
The residents of Kaloosa also held a protest demonstration against the authorities after water entered into the residential houses.
They blocked Bandiproa-Sopore road to protest against the district administration alleging sub-standard works on the construction of bund alongside Nallah Madumati.
