PAMPORE, December 05: The Geology and Mining Department Pulwama seized five vehicles for transportation of illegally extracted minerals in Khrew Pampore and Newa areas of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district during night raids.
A team from the Geology and Mining Department under the supervision of District Mineral Officer Pulwama Dr Mohammad Saleem along with Police seized five vehicles involved in illegally extracted minerals at Khrew and Newa areas of Pulwama district during late-night raids, officials told Kashmir Convener
The raids were conducted at two spots – Khrew and Newa areas of the Pulwama district. The team seized 5 Tippers found involved in the illegal mining, they said.
The Geology and Mining Department Pulwama has already issued a strict warning to those who are involved in the illegal extraction of minor minerals to avoid this illegal practice. The officials warned that strict action under the law will be taken against the violators.
