Bandipora, Feb 19: The NSS Units of Hassan Khoyihami Memorial (HKM) Degree College Bandipora on Monday organized an awareness programme for the prospective and first time voters.

An official spokesperson said the programme focused on enrolling new eligible/prospective voters. He said the event aimed to promote widespread and informed involvement in elections, with a specific focus on the youth demographic, in line with the main programme, Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP).

The seminar attracted a high number of college students and saw enthusiastic involvement from faculty members. Professor Bilquees, the NSS Programme Officer, gave a speech highlighting the crucial importance of the electoral registration process in influencing political participation.

Dr. Irshad Ahmad Bhat, NSS PO, discussed several kinds of elections and explained the complex procedures involved. Having student speakers enhanced the discussion by allowing young people to share their views on electoral participation.

The NSS units and the Sports Department collaborated to arrange a programme that effectively shared knowledge and encouraged participatory debates. Dr. Irshad Ahmad compered the event proceedings and presented a brief vote of thanks, finishing the seminar on a good tone.

“The collaborative effort between NSS units and the Sports Department underscored the multidimensional approach taken to promote electoral awareness among the student community at HKM GDC Bandipora”.
