Bandipora, Jan 26: Hassan Khoyihami Memorial (HKM) Degree College Bandipora celebrated the 75th Republic Day with tremendous enthusiasm and patriotic fervour on Friday.
The Principal, of the college Prof. Masood Ahmad Malik, unfurled the tricolour, symbolizing the spirit of unity and freedom. In his address, Prof. Malik highlighted the significance of Republic Day, emphasizing the values of democracy and unity that bind the nation together.
The National Service Scheme (NSS) and National Cadet Corps (NCC) volunteers, displaying remarkable discipline, participated in an impressive march past, adding a sense of pride and nationalism to the celebration.
The college's teaching and non-teaching staff, along with the vibrant student body, actively engaged in the festivities, showcasing their energy and commitment to the ideals of the Republic.
Prof Sajad Manzoor highlighted the achievements of the college in the last academic session. On this occasion, the certificates were distributed among NCC cadets for their outstanding involvement in various college activities.
As a gesture of camaraderie, sweets were distributed among the participants, fostering a sense of unity and celebration.
Dr Mohd Shaikhul Ashraf, Senior Faculty in Botany, expressed gratitude on behalf of the college community in a brief yet heartfelt vote of thanks, acknowledging the collective effort that made the Republic Day celebration a memorable event.
