Bandipora, Oct 6: In celebration of Daan Utsav 2025 — India’s Festival of Giving — the NSS Units of HKM College, Bandipora, organised a Donation Programme on October 6, 2025, under the guidance of Programme Officers Prof. Irfan Ahmad and Dr. Wasia Hamid.
An official spokesperson said the event was part of the nationwide Daan Utsav observance held from October 2 to 8, 2025, aimed at encouraging acts of generosity and community service.
During the programme, faculty members of the college contributed books, notebooks, pens, diaries, and other stationery items, which were distributed among the students. The initiative sought to foster a culture of sharing, compassion, and inclusivity within the academic community, reflecting the core values of Daan Utsav.
The event began with brief opening remarks by the Programme Officers, who underlined the significance of giving and the role of collective responsibility in nurturing a supportive educational environment. They emphasised that such gestures not only aid students materially but also inspire a sense of empathy and unity among peers.
The donation drive was warmly received by the students, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the college faculty for their thoughtful contributions. The initiative concluded with a reaffirmation of the NSS motto — “Not Me, But You” — embodying the spirit of selfless service and community upliftment.
