Health Services, WHO organises workshop on IPPI in Bandipora
BANDIPORA, JANUARY 30: The Health and Family Welfare Unit of Health Services Bandipora on Wednesday organised a day-long workshop on Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization Programme in collaboration with World Health Organization’s NPSP unit.
The workshop was attended by the supervisory staff of Health and Family welfare and ICDS besides other officials of the district. During the workshop the experts deliberated upon the Pulse Polio Immunization Programme and also discussed at length about the issues of preparation of Micro for IPPI and RI (Routine Immunization).
Resource persons Dr Sheema and Dr Iftikar Munshi talked about the current status and Epidemiology risks to Polio Eradication at local and global level and also deliberated over strengthening of SIA quality including trainings and supervision. The experts also reviewed the block wise review of micro plans with special focus on house to house planning and also delivered lectures on various components with regard to the disease and immunization.
while talking about the Pulse Polio scenario at national and international level, experts said the virus has been still found active in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Nigeria with latest detections in Gilgit area. They said the state needs to be more careful in ensuring proper immunization so that the virus can be kept at bay.
Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr Pareeza appealed all the officials and the field staff to work with dedication, zeal and with sincerity so the immunization program becomes a success story in the district.
She appealed all to furnish quality micro-plan for RI within the timeline set by the district and work with dedication for its implementation. She also appreciated the performance of the district in previous immunization programs including during Measles-Rubella Vaccination program.
