Grand Seminar of JKPUF and JKCSF Held in Bandipora
Bandipora, February 8: A grand one-day seminar of the Jammu & Kashmir Pensioners United Forum (JKPUF) and Jammu & Kashmir Civil Society Forum (JKCSF) was held at the district headquarters in Bandipora.
An official spokesperson said the event saw enthusiastic participation from all basic members of both forums, where key issues concerning pensioners and civil society were deliberated upon.
The seminar, conducted under the able guidance and leadership of State President Mr. Ab Qayoom Wani and his team, provided a platform for in-depth discussions on several pressing concerns. The speakers emphasized the need for reduction of the pension commutation period from 15 years to 12 years, increase in medical allowance to ₹10,000, enhanced benefits for senior citizens, social justice and empowerment of all sections of society, timely release of pensioners’ benefits and removal of disparities and eradication of social evils prevailing in society.
Many zonal-level committees were constituted during the seminar. Mr. Farooq Ahmad Malik was nominated as the Chief Organizer of JKCSF, while Mr. M. M. Mir was appointed as the Chief Organizer of JKPUF. Additionally, the following zonal heads were unanimously nominated for different zones of the Bandipora district. Several prominent speakers, including Mr. Peerzada Muzaffer, shah, Mr. Jabar, Mr. G. H. Mir, Mr. Para, Mr. Bashir Ahmed mir,Mr. Farooq, and Mr. Maqbool, addressed the gathering, shedding light on the vital concerns faced by pensioners and civil society. The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. G. M. Lone, President of JKCSF, District Bandipora.
The event was hailed as a landmark initiative, reflecting the commitment of both forums toward advocating for the rights and welfare of pensioners and the broader community.
