GMS Town organises seminar, rally to celebrate world Environment Day
Bandipora, June 05: Government Girls Middle School Town Bandipora on Monday celebrated the World Environment Day by organising a seminar to sensitize students about the environment.
Officials said on the occasion the speakers threw light on the importance of World Environment Day. They informed the students about the environment and importance of every plant and animal in the eco system to maintain the balance in the eco-system.
The teachers urged the students to pass the message to their families so that everyone contribute in his own personal capacity to conserve the environment.
Teachers in their messages stressed on encouraging taking concrete steps towards a more sustainable future. They also informed the participants how to keep the environment pollution-free and polythene free.
The main focus was laid on minimum use of polythene as this year’s theme of World Environment Day is ‘Beat the Plastic Pollution.
The speakers laid stress on use of jute-made or cloth-made bags instead of polythene bags and minimum use of disposable items available in the market.
Later a rally was organised from school to the main market Bandipora. The students were holding play cards on which different slogans pertaining to pollution free environment and polythene free environment were written.
