GLTF Delegation Meets Senior Officials, Pursues Teachers’ Demands in J&K
Srinagar, October 29: In continuation of their earlier engagement with the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, a delegation of the General Line Teachers Forum (GLTF) led by Gowhar Ahmad Bhat held a series of meetings with senior officials in the Union Territory to press for the long-pending demands of the teaching community.
An official spokesperson said the delegation met the Secretary, School Education Department, to follow up on commitments discussed during their meeting with the Lieutenant Governor.
The members also held an interactive session with the incoming Director School Education Kashmir to strengthen institutional rapport and coordination on key issues.
Further, the team met the Director Education Planning, the Ex-Director School Education (currently Special Secretary, ARI & Trainings), and other senior officers to apprise them of the pressing concerns of General Line Teachers. The discussions centered around issues affecting the welfare, service conditions, and efficiency of teachers across Jammu and Kashmir.
The delegation—comprising Tasneem Ali Beigh, Zahoor Ahmad Lone, Gh. Nabi Chopan, Mehraj-u-Din Bhat, Mohd Shafi, Fayaz Ahmad Dar, Imtiyaz Ahmad (Bandipora), Dilawar Ahmad Bhat, Abdul Samad, Imtiyaz Ahmad (Pulwama), Irshad Ahmad (Anantnag), and Zahoor Ahmad (Budgam)—emphasized the need for timely policy interventions to strengthen the education system and address teachers’ long-standing grievances.
The officials assured the delegation of their full support and cooperation in resolving the issues raised and appreciated the Forum’s constructive approach and commitment to improving the education sector.
Reiterating its dedication to collaborative engagement, the General Line Teachers Forum said it remains steadfast in its mission to work with the administration for the betterment of teachers and holistic growth of the education system in Jammu and Kashmir.
