Jammu, Mar 08: The National Cadet Corps of 2 J&K Girl’s Battalion outshined at 46th Inter -Collegiate Athletic Meet 2024 At University of Jammu.
Defence Spokesperson in Jammu said Cadet Mettali Rajput from GCW Udhampur won silver medal in the 4×100 relay race and Bronze in 200m race. Cadet Simran won Gold in 400 m, Silver in 4×100 m relay race and Cadet Smriti won Silver medal in 4×400 relay race.
From GDC Kathua Cadet Monika, Cadet Deepika and Cadet Banita won Bronze medal in 4×100m Relay Race while, Cadet Kajal Devi won Bronze medal in ShotPut.
From GCW Parade College, Cadet Shagun Bassan bagged Gold medal in 5km race and also got Bronze medal in Discus Throw, Cadet Neha Sharma bagged Bronze medal in 1500m race, Cadet Janvi Chib bagged Bronze medal in long jump, Cadet Preeti Devi got bronze medal in high jump.
Cadet Shagun bassan, Cadet Shakuntla, Cadet Neha, Cadet Aditri got 4th position in 4x400m relay race. Also, Cadet Janvi Chib, Cadet kritika, Cadet Aditri, Cadet Sweety got 4th position in 4x100m relay race.
Spokesperson said the power packed performance of NCC cadets of 2 J&K Girls NCC Bn played a significant role in winning medals at the 46th Annual Athletic Meet held at Jammu University.
He said this feat was achieved out of 80 Plus Colleges which participated with their full force. “The attributes of dedication, determination and disciplined training, coupled with their athletic abilities as well Victorious Will contribute towards their triumph”.
Brig P S Cheema, Group Cdr, NCC GP HQ Jammu was the Guest of Honour on the occasion and highlighted the NCC’s role in fostering sporting excellence.
