Bandipora, March 23: Govt. Higher Secondary School Mantrigam on Monday celebrated World Water Day by organizing a rally in which hundreds of students took part.
This rally was organized with an aim to sensitize the participants about the importance of water and advocate the sustainable management of freshwater resources.
The rally was flagged off by the Head of the Institution Hashim Hassan Bhat. Among the others Iftikhar Rashid Wani In-charge Environmental Science, Mohammad Iqbal graced the occasion.
During the Rally Students passed through different villages of Mantrigam in order to sensitize the local populace about the importance of water.
While addressing the gathering during the function, Hashim appreciated all the students who participated in the rally and shared their valuable information regarding the importance of saving water. He urged upon all the participants to adopt sustainable practices and play conservative role in water conservation.
Later Iftikhar Rashid Wani explained to the students about the importance of saving water. He told them each drop of water is valuable. He stressed upon everyone to understand the importance of celebrating World Water Day adding that it is the responsibility of this generation to conserve water so that the future generation have a good life.
He appreciated the role of Principal and hoped that stress the School will continue with such programs which would benefit the society in long run and as such programs had gained momentum when there is scarcity of water everywhere.
