GHS Plan Holds Anti-Drug, Anti-Tobacco Awareness Drive under Sewa Parv

Bandipora, Sept 18: As part of the ongoing Sewa Parv celebrations, Government Girls High School Plan, Bandipora on Thursday organised an awareness programme on drug abuse and anti-tobacco, highlighting the harmful effects of addiction on youth and society.

Teachers, staff and students actively participated in the event aimed at sensitising young minds about the dangers of substance abuse. Teachers explained how drug addiction and tobacco consumption not only ruin an individual’s health but also damage families and weaken the social fabric.

Students showcased their creativity through speeches, poems, and slogans condemning drug abuse and tobacco use. They also prepared posters and awareness charts with messages such as “Say No to Drugs”, “Tobacco is a Slow Poison”, and “Healthy Youth, Strong Nation”, which drew appreciation from both teachers and participants.

The school’s Cultural Coordinator, Mr. Zahoor Ahmad Lone, who guided the activity, praised the enthusiasm of the students and urged them to become role models by adopting healthy habits. He stressed that focusing on education, sports and cultural activities was the best way to channel youth energy and keep them away from social evils.

The programme concluded with staff and students taking a collective pledge to stay away from drugs and tobacco, discourage their use in all forms, and contribute to building a healthy, drug-free and progressive nation.
