Bandipora, Jan 3: Government Girls High School (GHS) Kaloosa has announced the commencement of free Winter Tutorials for students of Classes 6th to 10th, starting January 6 (Tuesday), aimed at providing academic support to students during the winter break.
According to a message issued by the Headmaster M Iqbal Lone, the winter coaching programme will be open not only to students enrolled at GHS Kaloosa but also to students from other schools in Kaloosa and adjoining areas.
“The initiative is intended to help students continue their studies during the harsh winter months and bridge learning gaps,” Lone told Kashmir Convener.
The school authorities said that all necessary arrangements have been put in place to ensure the safety and security of students, including proper heating facilities within the school premises to counter the cold weather.
“Qualified and subject-specific tutors will be available to guide the students, ensuring focused academic support across subjects,” the Headmaster said, urging students to make full use of the opportunity.
Emphasising the inclusive nature of the programme, the school has invited parents and guardians to encourage their wards to participate in the free winter coaching, which is aimed at improving learning outcomes without placing any financial burden on families.
The Headmaster expressed gratitude to the Director of School Education, Kashmir, and the Chief Education Officer, Bandipora, for their support, permission and cooperation in making the initiative possible.
The winter tutorials come as part of broader efforts by government schools to maintain academic continuity during winter vacations, particularly in areas where students often face disruptions in learning due to weather-related constraints.
