Bandipora, June 12: Govt. Girls High School Plan Bandipora Thursday observed a significant awareness programme under the “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan” on Thursday, as part of the IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) initiative.
An official spokesperson said the event was conducted under the guidance of the Headmaster of the school and saw active participation from resource persons from the Education Department, Police, Health Department, Youth Services & Sports, as well as students, parents, SMDC members, and civil society representatives.
Speakers from different sectors delivered comprehensive and enlightening talks on drug addiction, focusing on its causes, harmful effects, and effective prevention measures. They stressed the need for community awareness, parental involvement, and youth empowerment to combat this growing menace.
A major highlight of the programme was the Drug-Free India Pledge, in which all participants — students, staff, and community members — vowed to work collectively to eliminate drug abuse and contribute towards a healthier, addiction-free Jammu & Kashmir and India.
The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks presented by the Headmaster, who expressed sincere appreciation to all departments, officials, and attendees for their support in making the programme a meaningful success. The event reinforced the school’s commitment to playing an active role in the fight against drug addiction.
