Gurez, Jan 12: Government Degree College Gurez on Friday organised an Inter-College Online Quiz on Swami Vivekananda's life and philosophy, and a Poster Making Competition on HIV-AIDS awareness to celebrate the National Youth Day.
The event included an Inter-College Online Quiz on the life and philosophy of Swami Vivekananda, emphasising the importance of his teachings in the regeneration of the nation. Also, a Poster Making Competition focused on raising awareness about HIV/AIDS, combating stigma, and expressing solidarity with those affected.
The college also streamed the Prime Minister's speech during the National Youth Festival inauguration in Nashik, Maharashtra. The event was organised by the Red Ribbon Club, NSS, and the Department of History, under the guidance of Professor Farooq Ahmad, the College Principal.
Raishma Nazir secured the first position in the quiz, with Rifat Ara in the second position. The third position was shared by Mohamad Shafayat Khan and Mohammad Iqbal Khan. In the Poster Making Competition, Mehnaz Ahad, Waseem Manzoor Parray, and Shabnam Nisar secured the first, second, and third positions, respectively.
The position holders will be recognized with appreciation certificates during an upcoming ceremony at The college.
