GDC Ajas Celebrates National Youth Day

Bandipora, Jan 12: The NSS Unit in collaboration with Red Ribbon Club of Government Degree College Ajas, Bandipora, celebrated National Youth Day 2024 with enthusiasm and commitment, embracing the ideals of Swami Vivekananda on Friday.

The event as the statement was marked by a series of impactful activities aimed at fostering a sense of responsibility, cleanliness, and national pride among the youth.

“As part of the celebration, Swachh Bharat cleaning camps were organised in and around the college premises. NSS Volunteers actively participated in the cleanliness drive, taking to heart the message of Swami Vivekananda that a clean environment is conducive to a healthy and focused mind,” it said.

The statement reads that the college facilitated a live telecast of the Hon’ble Prime Minister's speech, allowing students to connect with the nation's leadership and gain insights into the vision for the youth. The speech served as a source of inspiration, motivating the students to contribute meaningfully to the nation's development.

“This was followed by a thought-provoking lecture by Dr. Ashaq Hussain, the Convener of Activities, who delved into Swami Vivekananda's teachings on youth, leadership, education, and character building. Dr. Hussain's insightful discourse ignited a sense of purpose and responsibility among the students,” it added

“The event reached its pinnacle with a Presidential address by the esteemed Principal, Prof. Dr. Parveen Kousar. Her words of wisdom encapsulated the essence of Swami Vivekananda's teachings, encouraging the students to strive for excellence and contribute meaningfully to society,” it said.

“The participants, comprising students and faculty, actively engaged in discussions, reflecting on the relevance of Swami Vivekananda's principles in today's context. The celebration served as a platform for intellectual discourse and self-reflection, instilling a sense of pride and responsibility in the young minds of Government Degree College Ajas Bandipora,” the statement added.

“The entire celebration was coordinated by a dedicated team of faculty members and student volunteers who worked tirelessly to ensure the success of the event. The participation and enthusiasm displayed by the students reflected their commitment to embody the teachings of Swami Vivekananda and contribute positively to society. The college remains committed to nurturing responsible citizens who will contribute towards building a strong and prosperous nation,” it added.
