Dr. Verma described the gathering as the first official commemorative programme to be held at the ashram in recognition of that historic visit.

In addition to remembering Gandhi’s visit, the programme also paid tribute to the late G.M. Pampori, a veteran social worker and devoted member of the Gandhi Global Family Pampore. Recalling Pampori’s contributions, Dr. Verma highlighted his steadfast dedication to Gandhian values, noting that he was a constant presence at community events and had proudly carried the name “Pampori” as a symbol of identity and service.
