Ganderbal Police Steps Up Anti-Drug Drive; Shop Sealed

Ganderbal, May 2: Continuing its intensified campaign under the ‘Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan’, Ganderbal Police carried out a series of enforcement and awareness activities across the district to curb drug abuse and ensure regulatory compliance.

During a joint inspection drive at Ganiwan and Gund, conducted in collaboration with the Drug Inspector Ganderbal, several medical shops were checked for adherence to prescribed norms. Officials reported that one shop was found violating mandatory procedures and was subsequently sealed by the Drug Department.

As part of preventive measures, urine drug screening tests were conducted at National Highway Lar in coordination with the medical team of PHC Lar. The initiative aimed at early detection and deterrence of substance abuse.

In addition, an anti-drug awareness programme followed by a rally was organised at Tulmullah under the jurisdiction of Police Station Kheerbawani, in collaboration with Bharat Scouts and Guides. The event saw active participation from students and local residents, spreading awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and promoting a collective commitment towards a drug-free society.

Ganderbal Police reiterated its resolve to continue such proactive measures and urged the public to extend full cooperation in eliminating the drug menace.
