Ganderbal, June 12: Ganderbal Police on Thursday held a coordination meeting with nodal officers of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) at the District Police Office (DPO) Ganderbal to review security and logistical arrangements for the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY-2026).
An official spokesperson, while speaking to Kashmir Convener, said that the meeting was chaired by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ganderbal, Sudhanshu Dhama, and focused on strengthening inter-agency coordination to ensure the smooth, safe and successful conduct of the annual pilgrimage.
The spokesperson said detailed discussions were held regarding security arrangements, deployment plans, traffic management, emergency response mechanisms, communication systems and facilitation measures for pilgrims.
During the meeting, the SSP stressed the need to ensure availability of all essential facilities at Baltal Base Camp and other camping locations, including accommodation, sanitation, medical assistance, drinking water, power supply and other logistical requirements for the convenience of yatris.
The officers also reviewed contingency plans and emphasized maintaining a high level of preparedness, vigilance and coordination to effectively respond to any emergent situation during the Yatra period.
