Gamroo-Gundpora road in shambles; Locals appeal DC Bandipora to intervene

BANDIPORA, June 25 : The residents of Gamroo Bandipora are up in arms against the district administration for failing to repair the Gamroo-Gundpora road subjecting the residents of a dozen villages to extreme hardships due to the dilapidated condition of the road.

            Locals told Kashmir Convener that said that the 2-kilometers stretch of road from Gamroo chowk to Gundpora bridge is in shambles and dotted with potholes giving trouble to the travelers. The road also leads to Makhdoom Sahib Shrine. They said that the distance that can be covered in ten minutes is covered in more than half an hour owing to potholes all over the road.

            Fayaz Ahmad Dar a local of the Gamroo village said the condition of the road from Gamroo to Gundpora is in deplorable condition and it is painful for us especially school children and patients. Residents urge the Deputy Commissioner Bandipora to look into the matter.
