Four cops injured in Srinagar grenade blast

Srinagar, Jan 17, CNS: At least four cops including an officer were injured after a grenade was lobbed towards a police party at Abdullah Bridge here in Kashmir capital Srinagar.

  Reports said that the suspected militants launched a grenade on a police party present at the extreme end of Abdullah Bridge in Raj Bagh Srinagar. The grenade exploded with a bang resulting in the injuries of four policemen. Among the injured were two cops from Traffic Department, an Assistant Sub-Inspector and a constable of Jammu Kashmir Police.

  The injured were rushed to hospital where there conditions are stated to be stable.

  Shortly, after the blast a police party rushed to the spot to assess the institution. A police official on condition of anonymity told news agency CNS that UGBL was used in the attack.

  “We are ascertaining the facts while a case has been registered in this regard,” he added.
