Reasi, July 23: Flash floods triggered by incessant rainfall have washed away the Badora Bridge on the Mahore–Chasana Road in Reasi district, leading to the complete closure of the vital road link.

The bridge was swept away following a sudden surge in the water level, disrupting connectivity between Mahore and Chasana and leaving vehicular movement suspended on the route.

Authorities have advised commuters and residents to avoid travelling through the affected stretch until restoration work is completed and the road is declared safe for traffic.

Officials urged the public to remain vigilant in view of the prevailing adverse weather conditions and to follow official traffic advisories before undertaking any journey.

The latest incident comes amid widespread rainfall across Jammu and Kashmir, which has triggered flash floods, landslides and damage to roads and public infrastructure in several districts. [KNT]
