Srinagar, Oct 27: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC), led by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, is navigating a period of significant political challenge. The party faces mounting criticism, ranging from unfulfilled promises to growing internal dissent pressures that are now compounded by a new controversy stemming from the recent Rajya Sabha elections.

While opposition parties have leveled serious allegations, suggesting that the NC and the BJP are operating the Jammu and Kashmir government based on a “tacit understanding” and have characterized the Rajya Sabha elections as a “fixed match.”

Adding a new dimension to these claims, BJP State Media Co-Incharge for J&K, Adv. Sajid Yousuf Shah, has publicly questioned the National Conference’s credibility by asserting that NC MLAs crossed party lines to vote for the BJP candidate, Sat Sharma.

In a post on the social media platform X as per Kashmir Convener, Shah expressed his gratitude to these legislators. He stated, “I have a strong feeling that it was the National Conference MLAs who voted for the BJP in the Rajya Sabha. I am thankful to those MLAs who voted for the BJP candidate Sat Sharma (CA) Ji, putting aside their party affiliation and believing in PM Narendra Modi Ji’s vision and leadership.”

Pertinently, in the recently held Rajya Sabha elections, the National Conference secured three seats, while the BJP’s Sat Sharma won his seat.
