Bandipora, 04 Nov: Community Health Centre (CHC) Hajin in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district achieved a major milestone by successfully performing its first open appendectomy.
Officials said the procedure was conducted by Surgeon Dr. Iqbal, assisted by OT technicians Arshad and Hilal, along with other dedicated staff members.
The accomplishment is being viewed as a significant step forward in strengthening the hospital’s surgical services.
Officials said the patient was diagnosed with acute appendicitis and required immediate surgery. Dr. Iqbal and his team carried out the operation with care and precision, ensuring the patient received timely and effective treatment. The hospital confirmed that the patient is stable and recovering as expected.
This development has generated appreciation across the local community. Residents welcomed the achievement, calling it a moment of progress for the entire Hajin region.
They noted that the availability of such procedures at CHC Hajin will reduce the burden on patients who previously had to travel to Sopore, Bandipora, or Srinagar for similar surgeries.
