Farewell Function for HoI Mushtaq Ahmad Sofi Cancelled; Special Prayers Held for Father’s Recovery

Bandipora, Nov 28: The farewell programme planned for Mr. Mushtaq Ahmad Sofi, Complex Head and Headmaster of HS Panar, at BPS Kohli Mohalla has been cancelled due to the sudden illness of his father.
The farewell, scheduled for saturday, had been in preparation for weeks, with students rehearsing cultural performances, speeches, and thematic presentations to honour Mr. Sofi, who is widely regarded as a guiding figure for schools under the Panar complex.
Officials said the school community, led by HoI MS Koli Mohallah Anjum Nisar, gathered at the school premises to hold special prayers for the speedy recovery of Mr. Sofi’s father. The gathering, though simple, reflected the sincere goodwill and respect the staff and students hold for their headmaster.
Speaking on the occasion, HOI Nisar said, “Mushtaq Ahmad Sofi is not only a dynamic teacher and leader but also an exceptional human being. He has always worked with unwavering dedication for the future of the children under his care.”
He highlighted Mr. Sofi’s contributions, including the relocation of High School Panar to a new building, which significantly improved the academic environment for hundreds of students.
Nisar added, “He regularly visited all schools under his complex, monitored the teaching-learning process, and attentively listened to teachers’ concerns, ensuring they reached the higher authorities.”
The staff expressed hope to organize the farewell function at a later date, once circumstances allow, and extended heartfelt prayers for the recovery and well-being of Mr. Sofi’s father.
