Bandipora, May 06: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad, officials of Excise Zone Bandipora carried out destruction drive against the illicit cultivation of Poppy plants in Naidkhai Village of Hajin tehsil.
Illicit cultivation of poppy plants on several small scattered patches measuring approximately 5 Kanals was destroyed. The drive was most successful and was highly appreciated by the locals of village besides information regarding some patches was also given by the locals.
The officials informed that such drives against the cultivation of Narcotic crops along with Revenue Department, Police Department and other stakeholders will continue till the menace is rooted out .
