DSU Bandipora, Faiz_e_Aam Secondary School Observes World Rabies Day 2025
Bandipora, September 28: On the directions of the State Surveillance Officer, Kashmir, and the Chief Medical Officer, Bandipora, the District Surveillance Unit (DSU), IDSP Bandipora organized a program to commemorate World Rabies Day 2025 at Faiz-e-Aam Secondary School, Bandipora.
An official spokesperson said this year’s theme was “Act Now: You, Me, Community”, emphasizing collective action in the fight against rabies.
The event was inaugurated by the Chairman of Faiz-e-Aam Secondary School, in the esteemed presence of Dr. Nabeel Ishtiaq, District Epidemiologist and DNO-NRCP, the Principal of the school, faculty members, students, and the team from DSU Bandipora.
In his keynote address, Dr. Nabeel Ishtiaq highlighted the significance of rabies awareness, discussing its prevention, key Do’s and Don’ts, and especially the critical role of Anti-Rabies Vaccination (ARV). His informative session aimed to educate both students and faculty on the importance of timely medical intervention and community involvement in preventing rabies.
As part of the observance, students of Faiz-e-Aam Secondary School engaged in debates and discussions on various topics related to rabies, showcasing their understanding and commitment to public health awareness.
The event concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony, wherein certificates of appreciation were awarded to the students who actively participated in the program.
