Pampore, October 22: In a major relief for the residents of Frestabal area of Pampore, BJP District General Secretary Pulwama, Mohammad Asif Ganaie, has initiated the construction of a much-awaited drainage system, addressing one of the area’s long-standing civic issues.
Earlier, on the intervention of Ganaie, the Frestabal–Zaffron Colony road was repaired and upgraded, making travel safer and more convenient for commuters. With the launch of the drainage project, locals are hopeful that the recurring problem of waterlogging—especially after light rainfall—will finally come to an end.
Speaking to Kashmir Convener, residents expressed their gratitude to BJP leader Mohammad Asif Ganaie for his consistent efforts to improve local infrastructure. They said Ganaie had earlier spent from his own pocket to repair the damaged road, and now his initiative to construct a proper drainage system will bring lasting relief to the area.
“Even light rain used to turn the entire stretch into a pond, making movement almost impossible,” said a local resident. “Thanks to Asif Ganaie’s intervention, our long-standing problem is finally being resolved. We are truly grateful to him.”

Locals also raised slogans in praise of BJP Mohammad Asif Ganaie, appreciating his dedication and commitment towards public welfare and grassroots development.
Speaking to Kashmir Convener, Mohammad Asif Ganaie said that there had been no drainage system on this road for the last 25 years, which caused numerous problems for the residents. Now, with the launch of the main drainage project, work is underway, and the long-standing issues of the locals are finally being resolved.
He expressed his gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Dr Basharat Qayoom for extending full support in making the project possible. Ganaie added that the drainage project is expected to be completed within the next two months.
