Dr. Naveed Nazir, Nazir Ganaie, Anisa Nabi Among Others Inducted into Rotary for Global Humanitarian Service

Srinagar, September 1: In a major step aimed at strengthening its outreach in Jammu and Kashmir, the Rotary Club of Kashmir has inducted a group of distinguished professionals from diverse fields into Rotary International, a global service organization known for its humanitarian initiatives across the world.
The new members include eminent pulmonologist Dr. Naveed Nazir, civil services officer Anisa Nabi, academician Dr. Ruheela Hassan, and senior journalist and artist Nazir Ganaie, besides healthcare specialist Dr. Ibrar Bashir Sheerazi. Their induction, according to the Club, is a recognition of their professional excellence and contribution to society.
Rotary International, with over 1.4 million members in more than 200 countries, operates on the principle of “Service Above Self” and works on key global challenges such as eradication of polio, promotion of peace, healthcare access, education, and community development.
Welcoming the new members, the Rotary Club of Kashmir said the induction would further energize its mission-driven initiatives in the Valley. “Each of these individuals has made a mark in their respective professions and their commitment to public service aligns with the values of Rotary,” the Club said in a statement.
Apart from the five noted personalities, several others from different sectors also joined the Club. They include Irfan Jeelani Rather from the education sector, Gurpriya Kour representing the hospitality industry, Dr. Javaid Ahmad Bhat from healthcare, Jatinder Singh Kamboj from business, Mursheed Ahmad Khan from university administration, and Dr. Asifa Baba, also from university administration.
Rotary officials expressed confidence that the addition of these accomplished individuals would not only broaden the Club’s professional diversity but also enhance its ability to carry out humanitarian service at the local and international level.
With the new inductions, the Rotary Club of Kashmir is expected to scale up its interventions in healthcare, education, youth empowerment, and community service, aligning with Rotary’s global vision of sustainable development and positive change.
