Dr Choudhary interact with civil services aspirants in Bandipora

“More students can crack exams if properly guided”

BANDIPORA, FEBURARY 01: Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary on Friday interacted with the students and civil services aspirants and shared his experiences and important tips with them.

         He detailed his journey of cracking the examination and recommended the students to have a proper time table for studies and maintain consistency in that. He asked the students to chose subjects according to their choice where they feel that they can score better and have proper understanding of that subject.

         The 2008 batch IAS officer, Dr Choudhary said proper planning plays a key role in preparing for the examination. He said an aspirant should ensure that the entire syllabus for prelims and mains including optional is completely studied at least two months before the preliminary examination and should maintain a time table to complete the syllabus well in time and follow the time table strictly.

         He also urged the students imbibe in themselves the habit of being a good listener and develop in them the critical way of thinking besides regularly updating their general knowledge.

         Dr Choudhary said the students in the valley can easily crack any competitive exams if guided properly as they are having higher IQ than others. Stating that the confidence is key to success, Dr Choudhary said the student in Kashmir need to be more confident and he is sure the number of IAS qualifiers will multiply every year.

         He stressed on the need to maintain consistency and dedication to crack the prestigious exam. “The only thing lacking is timely guidance. If we have good mentors and start preparing in time, there is no doubt many more students will crack the examination." 

         He advises students not to get disheartened in case they face failure in their first or second attempt and said that failure should act as a motivation for working harder. 

         Dr Choudhary also answered the question of students who sought help in choosing subjects, maintaining time table and other related tips.

         He assured the students that his doors will be always open for them for any guidance regarding the exams. He said he will arrange more guest lecturers by some of the experts from other states for the students of Bandipora so that they can better prepared to crack their exams.
