Doon International School Holds Annual Cross Country Run Along Srinagar–Baramulla Highway

Pattan, April 18: Doon International School Singhpora Pattan on Saturday organised its annual cross country run along the Srinagar–Baramulla National Highway, with students covering a distance of approximately 7 kilometres from Narbal to Singhpora.
Around 365 students participated in the event, marking a significant turnout. The initiative was aimed at promoting physical fitness, discipline, and sportsmanship among students while encouraging outdoor sporting culture.
The run was flagged off by SDPO Pattan Raja Majid and DySP Operations Abid Hussain. Both officers lauded the school administration for organising the event and urged students to adopt healthy lifestyles through regular physical activity.
Vice Chairman of the institution, Raajbhat, said such events play a crucial role in the holistic development of students. He noted that beyond academics, participation in sports activities helps build confidence, resilience, and teamwork among young learners.
He further stated that the school remains committed to providing platforms that nurture both physical and mental well-being of students, adding that more such initiatives will be organised in the future to engage youth constructively.
The event was conducted smoothly with active support from school staff and local authorities. Students displayed determination and enthusiasm throughout the race, making it a successful and well-coordinated sporting event.
