Doda, July 23: The District Administration Doda, in coordination with the Power Development Department (PDD), has issued a monsoon electrical safety advisory, urging the public to exercise caution around power infrastructure during the ongoing spell of rain to prevent accidents.

The administration asked residents to maintain a safe distance from electric poles, transformers, substations and overhead power lines during rainfall, warning that waterlogging and damaged electrical equipment can pose serious risks.

Executive Engineer, PDD Doda, Rouf Batt, appealed to the public to ensure that children do not play near electrical installations and advised livestock owners against tying animals close to power poles, transformers or other electricity-related infrastructure.

The administration also urged people to immediately report damaged or sagging power lines and other electrical hazards to the concerned authorities instead of attempting to handle them on their own.

The District Administration appealed to the public to strictly follow the safety guidelines and cooperate with the Power Development Department to ensure the safety of lives and property. [KNT]
