DM, SSP Shopian Hold Joint Meeting with Civil Society, Religious Leaders to Ensure Peace

Shopian, March 3: A joint meeting was convened on Tuesday by the District Magistrate Shopian and the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shopian with civil society members and religious leaders in view of recent developments in the district.

The meeting focused on maintaining peace and public order and preventing any untoward incidents. Participants discussed coordinated measures to ensure calm and to curb the spread of rumours, particularly through social media and other informal channels.

The officers appealed to the public to uphold communal harmony and exercise restraint during this sensitive period. They emphasised the importance of responsible conduct and constructive engagement to safeguard the district’s peaceful environment.

Civil society representatives and religious leaders assured the administration and police of their full cooperation in maintaining law and order.

The meeting concluded with a collective resolve from all stakeholders to work together in preserving peace, stability and communal harmony in the district.
