District Judiciary, DLSA Bandipora Celebrate 77th R’Day with Emphasis on Constitutional Values

Bandipora, Jan 26: The District Judiciary Bandipora and the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Bandipora marked the 77th Republic Day on Sunday with solemnity and patriotic fervour, reaffirming the ideals of unity, justice, and constitutional values that form the bedrock of the Indian Republic.
The celebrations were organised in accordance with the Republic Day 2026 theme, “150 Years of Vande Mataram,” underscoring the enduring spirit of nationalism and constitutional commitment.
On the occasion, the National Flag was unfurled at 9:00 am at the District Court Complex, Bandipora, by Ms. Jeema Bashir, Principal District & Sessions Judge and Chairperson, DLSA Bandipora. The ceremony was attended by Ms. Indu Kanwal Chip, Deputy Commissioner Bandipora; Mr. Mir Wajahat, Additional District Judge, Bandipora; Mr. Iqbal Ahmad Akhoon, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Bandipora; Mr. Amandeep Singh, Munsiff/JMIC, Bandipora; and Mr. Sofi Feroz, President, Bar Association Bandipora, along with members of the Bar Association’s executive body.
Officials of the District Court Bandipora, DLSA Bandipora, Legal Aid Defence Counsels (LADCs), advocates, Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) of DLSA and Tehsil Legal Services Committee (TLSC) Bandipora, besides police personnel, were also present.
Addressing the gathering, Ms. Jeema Bashir said that the 77th Republic Day is a moment to honour the sacrifices of the freedom fighters, celebrate the nation’s achievements, and renew commitment to building a progressive and inclusive India.
“Let this milestone inspire us to build a future that truly embodies the principles laid down in our Constitution,” she said.
She further highlighted that the country is celebrating the day when the Constitution of India was adopted in 1950, emphasising that every citizen must follow the constitutional roadmap for the socio-political and economic development of the nation.
As part of the celebrations, sweets were distributed among police officials and participants. In her concluding remarks, the Principal District & Sessions Judge expressed gratitude to all participants, including police personnel and representatives of print and electronic media, for ensuring the smooth and successful conduct of the function.
Meanwhile, similar Republic Day celebrations were held across other judicial institutions in the district. The Munsiff Court Sumbal and Tehsil Legal Services Committee (TLSC) Sumbal celebrated the occasion with the National Flag unfurled by Ms. Rahila Rashid, Munsiff/JMIC and Chairperson, TLSC Sumbal, at the Munsiff Court, Sumbal.
Likewise, the Munsiff Court Gurez and Tehsil Legal Services Committee (TLSC) Gurez observed the 77th Republic Day at the Munsiff Court, Gurez, where the National Flag was unfurled by Ms. Mehak Mehboob, Munsiff/JMIC and Chairperson, TLSC Gurez.
The celebrations across courts reflected the judiciary’s collective commitment to upholding constitutional values, access to justice, and the rule of law, in line with the vision of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA).
