Srinagar: 09/Feb/25: In a recent conversation with the media, the Director of School Education Kashmir addressed the long-standing issue of teacher transfers, particularly for those who have been stationed in the same location for 10 to 15 years without a transfer.

According to The Kashmir Student (TKS), when asked about this matter, the Director stated, “As you are already aware, the annual transfer drive portal is live, and a policy has been implemented. This policy allows all teachers to view their tenure and apply for transfers accordingly. Based on the zones, eligible teachers will be considered for transfer. I am confident that a decision regarding this matter will be taken very soon.”

He further explained, “The aim is to ensure that transfers are completed before the start of the new academic session to avoid any disruption to ongoing educational activities. We are committed to ensuring that the academic year remains uninterrupted.”

However, he also acknowledged exceptional cases, saying, “There are certain instances where teachers face medical issues or security concerns, and in those cases, the government has special procedures in place to address these situations.”

The Director assured that the transfer process would be carried out in due course, with a focus on fairness and timely execution of decisions to ensure a smooth academic experience for both teachers and students.
