Bandipora, 21 Jan:  Residents of ITI Sheikh Hamza Colony in Bandipora have expressed resentment against dilapidated road in the area.

The road connecting the locality with main road is dotted with potholes and damaged drain, giving a tough time to commuters.

Ghulam Rasool Arif , Head Mohallah/Masjid Committee said, "The muddy road of the locality hinders us from going to masjid in morning and evening hours. We have been moving from pillar to post to repair the road and drain but no action has been taken so far".

Another resident said that they visited every office for the macadamization of this road but unfortunately, our pleas are going unheard by the concerned authorities.

Locals said the problem is compounded by defunct drainage system. Half of the drain is yet to be constructed and remains blocked most of the times. During rains and snowfall, lane get waterlogged confining us to homes. We are less than a half kilometer away from Main Market Bandipora and are being deprived of development.

The locals appealed Deputy Commissioner Dr. Owais Ahmad  to direct concerned authorities to look into these issues.
