PULWAMA, April 20: The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday conducted a comprehensive review of crime and security in Pulwama, with a focus on counter-terrorism measures and strengthening the anti-terror grid.
Deputy Inspector General of Police, South Kashmir Range, Javaid Iqbal Mattoo chaired the meeting at the District Police Lines, which was attended by SSP Pulwama Tanushree and other senior officers, including SHOs and investigating officers.
During the meeting, a detailed review of the overall crime scenario, case investigations, NDPS-related matters and preventive strategies was undertaken. The DIG also assessed the prevailing security situation, laying emphasis on counter-terror operations and enhancing coordination among various security agencies.
He directed officers to intensify area domination, strengthen intelligence networks and maintain heightened alertness to effectively counter any threats. Stressing the importance of professional policing and public cooperation, he called for proactive measures to ensure peace and stability in the district.
The DIG further instructed officials to step up action against drug trafficking and other criminal activities while ensuring strict enforcement of law.
SSP Pulwama briefed the meeting on the district’s current crime and security scenario, outlining measures being taken to curb unlawful activities and maintain law and order.
Officials reiterated that Pulwama Police remains committed to strengthening the security grid and ensuring safety of the public.
