DIG NKR Reviews Crime, Security Scenario in Bandipora

Bandipora, October 08: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) North Kashmir Range (NKR), Baramulla,  Maqsood-Ul-Zaman on Wednesday  visited Bandipora  to review the security  scenario in the district

An official spokesperson  said the visit began with the inauguration of the newly constructed Martyrs’ Memorial, dedicated to the memory of Martyr Inspector Mohmad Altaf, along with the Recreation Hall and the District Training Lab at District Police Lines (DPL) Bandipora.

The DIG, accompanied by SSP Bandipora Harmeet Singh Mehta and other senior officers, laid floral wreaths at the Martyrs’ Memorial, paying solemn tributes to the bravehearts of the force who laid down their lives in the line of duty.

Following the inauguration, the DIG chaired a comprehensive crime review meeting at the Conference Hall, DPL Bandipora. The meeting was attended by the SSP Bandipora, Additional SP, all supervisory officers, SHOs, and other concerned officials. During the session, the SSP gave a detailed presentation on the current crime scenario in the district, outlining major achievements, progress on ongoing investigations, and preventive measures being implemented to curb criminal activities and ensure public safety.

Later, a security review meeting was convened, which saw the participation of officers from the Indian Army, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and Bandipora Police. The discussions centered around assessing the prevailing security situation, reviewing the coordination mechanisms among different forces, and formulating strategies to reinforce the security grid across the district.

Addressing the officers, DIG Maqsood-Ul-Zaman underscored the importance of maintaining a robust security framework and adopting proactive and preventive measures to deal with emerging challenges. He emphasized close inter-agency coordination and called upon officers to remain alert, ensuring that the district’s peace and stability are maintained at all times.

Commending the efforts of the Bandipora Police, the DIG lauded their professionalism, commitment, and dedication in upholding law and order, countering crime, and ensuring the safety and security of the people. He also urged continued community engagement and cooperation with the public to strengthen the bond between citizens and law enforcement agencies.
