DGP Nalin Prabhat Reviews Security, Counter-Terror Operations in Awantipora

Awantipora, Mar 7: Nalin Prabhat on Friday chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess the security situation, counter-terror (CT) operations and overall law and order scenario in Awantipora.

The meeting was held at the District Police Office Awantipora and was attended by senior police officers including Special DG Coordination S. J. M. Gillani, Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone V. K. Birdi and DIG South Kashmir Range Javid Iqbal Matoo, along with the SSP Awantipora, Additional SP Awantipora, SDPOs and DySPs of the Special Operations Group (SOG).

During the meeting, the DGP reviewed the prevailing security scenario with special focus on ongoing counter-terror operations, both kinetic and non-kinetic. He also assessed the measures being taken by the police to curb drug abuse and other criminal activities in the police district.

Prabhat stressed the need to further intensify the drive against anti-national elements, drug trafficking and crime. He directed the officers to take strict and effective action against individuals involved in unlawful activities and asked them to remain vigilant and proactive in their areas of responsibility.

Emphasising the importance of strong coordination and intelligence-based operations, the DGP said proactive policing is essential to maintain peace and stability in the region.

He also appreciated the efforts of officers and jawans working on the ground and urged all ranks to remain alert, disciplined and mission-oriented while performing their duties.
